Wandered through the old, the new and the destroyed parts of the city. Ended up in the museum which gave an insight into Maori history and culture. It would seem that there is a much greater respect between the European and Maori people than we found in Australia.
The museum also had an excellent Antarctic exploration exhibit.
A tour of the New Zealand garden in the Botanical gardens was followed by a stroll through an original shopping street, strangely undamaged yet surrounded by demolished building sites.
Tomorrow we pick up our motorhome.
WiFi might be a bit less reliable so new posts on this blog might be less frequent.
Just noticed that the dates on this and the last post are incorrect. I think it must be something to do with crossing the international date line!!!
