Start of the Tour

A short taxi ride took us to the Maui depot where we picked up the motorhome. First stop was the supermarket for supplies - some wine, some beer, some more wine (bigger discount) and some food etc.

We then headed towards our first campsite at Glentanner passing some startling blue lakes on the way with Mount Cook covered in snow high above.

On Wed we headed up to Mount Cook Village and walked up to see the glacier. The glacier has receded 2km in the last 15 years.  Global warming? The lake left at the foot of the glacier contained icebergs.

We headed towards Dunedin as our next planned stop but got distracted by the tourist radio and stopped on a site in Oamaru, a seaside town boasting a Victorian area. It was closed when we walked there but we might revisit tomorrow.
