Just a short drive today through some fantastic scenery, mountains and plateaus. Journeys end is at Taupo a town on the edge of a lake of that name, the largest lake in New Zealand, as big as Singapore.
We wander around the town and then head for our site where we extend our stay to two nights. We are at DeBretts holiday park which has its own thermal pools - just $10 (£5) for two old age pensioners.
We have booked a table for a meal at the Bistro at the Hilton Hotel next door and also a jet boat ride down some rapids tomorrow.
Should be fun!
