Hokitika to Hanmer Springs

We saw the glow worms last night after a walk up a dark path avoiding other tourists.

This morning we set off early but I decide not to go via Arthur's Pass as it would really be piling on miles.  Instead we head to Reefton, an old goldmining town (still mining). Stop for a walk round, a look at the museum and a breakfast.

Drive over Lewis Pass to Hanmer Springs. Settle into site and do some washing before walking into town to the hot springs.

A municipal facility provides various hot pools with appropriately placed water jets, some sulphurous pools of varying degrees of heat. Very relaxing before returning to the site and bbq some tender lamb cutlets.

Glow Worms (well it was dark and they were tiny!!!
